After over 20 years I was an executive recently laid off & my former company offered me outplacement services thru a national company.

After their first meeting, it was quickly apparent this was simply a ‘cattle call’ to process me thru their website (I guess for billing purposes).  Then when I was assigned a consultant(over the phone), found out the consultant was managing over 120 employees.  I was done!

I contacted our HR Department to request to seek services outside (with the same contract price) the company.  They agreed.

That is when I found a local office at First Sun Consulting where the local live consultant trained/assisted me thru my transition along with their social media training. Bottom Line: I was re-employed in 3 months.

As a nonprofit we had a very limited budget to assist our transitioning employees during budget cuts in our organization.

First Sun not only met our budget but offered over six office in the DC/Maryland area to meet with each of our transitioning employees near their homes.
